The Development and analysis of how bullying effects Piggy
Every day, we face challenges, some that we can avoid because they are obstacles of our own life, and other we cannot avoid because they are inflicted upon by other people. These kinds of challenges, such as bullying, effects people both morally and physically to a point in which the victim becomes shut down and dies figuratively dies in both of those ways. This kind of shut down can be seen through the character of Piggy, of Lord of the Flies. Piggy goes through constant and extreme bullying throughout his time on the island, simply because he is different from the other boys on the island--he is overweight. This makes him appear weaker because inside himself, his personality is being killed. This brutality is similar to how people, such as homosexuals, are treated in society when someone in society deems them not “normal”.
